Nicolás Celis

Nicolás Celis, founder of Pimienta Films, is a Mexican producer known for his focus on high-quality, artistically driven projects, making his production company one of the most recognized in Mexico and Latin America. He has produced over 30 films, collaborating with directors like Tatiana Huezo, Jacques Audiard, Amat Escalante, and Alfonso Cuarón. Among his notable projects is ROMA, which won over 200 awards, including the Golden Lion at the Venice Film Festival, four BAFTAs, two Golden Globes, and three Oscars®. He also produced Prayers for the Stolen, Huezo’s first fiction film, awarded at Cannes and preselected for the Academy Awards®. Nicolás has served as a jury member at film festivals in Shanghai, Tbilisi, Sofia, and Thessaloniki, and is a member of the Mexican and American Academies of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences and the Producers Guild of America.
