Gabriel Barrio has more than 20 years of experience in marketing and sales. He holds a degree in Business Administration from the University of Lima and an International MBA from IAE Business School (Buenos Aires, Argentina).
Under Barrio's leadership, UNACEM launched “Sightwalks by Sol Cement” campaign, an initiative in favor of visually impaired people, which received a total of 8 awards at the recent Cannes Lions 2024, including a Grand Prix, the highest recognition of this important festival of creativity. With this, Sol Cement became the only Peruvian brand to receive a Grand Prix at Cannes and positioned itself as the 8th most creative brand in the world. In addition, Apu Cement (another brand from the portfolio) has won the only Grand Effie Latam for Peru.
Likewise, he has more than ten years of experience as a jury member and consultant for the most important national and international creativity, communications and advertising awards and festivals.
